Hello Friends! Happy New Month…trust you are staying prayed up (if you follow me on IG, you should have picked up that word), staying safe and just being good in general. One thing I want you to be rest assured is that “THIS TOO SHALL PASS” and I also want to encourage us not to let the data popping up on the news consume us.

For a lot of us this abrupt change is overwhelming and for others it has put us, our families, our finances in a just trying to survive mode but I believe and I know for sure that God will take care of us…I have been living my life based on that promise and I have seen God keep showing up and taking care of me. Asides blogging and sharing the word of God online, I run a product based business (clothing brand) and for a business that was closed for the major part of 2019 because I was on a journey with God to realign and align my life in furtherance of fulfilling his PURPOSE & living life just the way I have been predestined to.

I can tell that this season is a difficult one, I had just onboarded new staffs in February and by mid-march, we are on a lockdown and while this lockdown is on, bills are pilling up, things have to be taken care of but the truth is “I AM AT PEACE” in every area (ONE WITH GOD IS MAJORITY), I know whose I am. To be honest, some days I want to take thoughts of my tomorrow but I am daily reminded of his instruction in Philippians 4:6-7 which says be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication make your request known to God; I love the way the Passion Translation renders it “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will make answers known to you through Jesus Christ

So, believe me when I say “He would take care of you” “His design is not an everlasting suffer or pain, remember the promise in Jeremiah 29:10-11 This is God’s word on the subject: as soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home, I know what I am doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

All you must do is maintain the right POSTURE of someone whose total reliance is on God, someone who knows and understands who has promised and who is expectant of the fulfillment of his promises over their lives and WATCH HIM show up.

Diving into our main subject for today titled PURGE, this word has been a reoccurring word for me since last week, I shared two different posts on Instagram talking about it, firstly it stemmed from a prayer “Lord Search my heart & know my way, if there is any wicked way, cleanse, sanctify, rid & purge it all away”. Then a few days back on Thursday to be precise, my computer went through a purging process because I was trying to download some drive files, I got a pop-up that I needed to free some space and when I clicked on the option that would take me to the contents of what I have on my drive, I picked out some files to be deleted & when the action started, the system interpreted it as a PURGING PROCESS so purging popped on the screen. This led me to furthermore meditate and study the word, the interesting thing about that process was that it helped me discover documents, files  on my computer that no longer served me but out of ignorance I had let them sit on that space.

Sometimes is not always about the craving for an external  new thing that matters, is about clearing up our inside to accommodate that new thing when it comes, sometimes it doesn’t also have to be a new thing, it could be clearing beliefs, old files in our minds that no longer serve us to make room for the useful ones being suppressed by these weeds to manifest.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PURGE OUT OF YOUR LIFE?

For my first category of search me Lord and know my heart and see if there be any wicked way in me, we have:

Resentment, Unforgiveness, Pride, Envy/Unhealthy Competition, deceit, anger, malice

1peter 2:1-2 Therefore putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that you may grow in respect to salvation

Then the second category inspired by the purging process of my computer we have:

Purging from unwanted files that no longer serve us and causing us not to be in the place of LIGHT /MANIFESTATION, lies of the enemy about us, limiting beliefs from past programming that have kept us from truly living and manifesting (I have a video teaching on limiting beliefs coming up soon on my social media pages) so watch out for a detailed teaching on that. The focus of this blog today is for the former category mentioned.

For the purging process to be effect, there must be actions to follow it and that is a AN INSTALLATION of the right files…you can’t afford to live your mind fallow. After you have installed these files, you go ahead to LAUNCH that is living out in line with those newly installed files and beliefs.

What are these files you may ask?

God’s words which contains God’s promises, God’s definition of you, God’s design for you to live a peaceful, joyful and an abundant life…with these you have a default response to any plot of the enemy over your life.

You know why this purging process is very important is that often we don’t take note of the effects of these things in our lives, they look unnoticed but has great harmful effects. They are stunting our spiritual growth and blocking us from truly getting blessed. They go unnoticed because as spirit filled, tongue speaking brethren’s, these things don’t just manifest until we are faced with the triggers. We do not manifest these traits because we have chosen to be bad people or want to be bad, but the enemy has laid it in our subconscious mind, he keeps reminding you why you don’t need to forgive that fellow who has wronged you so badly and he paints a picture to justify that you are just demanding a fair judgement so what you feel is okay.

We don’t want to be like this so for each time these thoughts come and we react we feel disappointed at ourselves, personally I found myself struggling with unforgiveness not because I want to get even but in my ideal world, I want people owning up for their mistakes and rendering apologies when and where due. That spirit of not letting go fully and releasing is the plan of the enemy to keep you locked up in unforgiveness.  In my case,  I tell myself that I have totally moved on from that situation but for each time I am around the scene or the individual, I am stunned as to how they feel okay with what they have done in the past without rendering any form of apology whatsoever and I realize that when I dwell much on that incident, I am triggered…it starts feeling like I never truly moved on or forgave the person.

You know what can be holding back your blessing is that thought that wailed up in your heart in the form of envy which you treated just as a mere thought; hear what proverbs 14:30 says  a tender tranquil heart will make you healthy, but jealousy can make you sick”

Also, Job 5: 2 says Surely resentment destroys the fool, and jealousy kills the temple.

You truly do not want to keep living this way….

Now while I do not want to create a distinction of different areas of sin, notice that I didn’t mention stealing, alcoholism, sexual sin etc. that is because as believer’s most times we have gone through life changing encounter that has rid all of this out of our lives and we are encouraged to flee from every appearance of evil and because these are action bound, by the grace of God we are able to control it but the ones on the list above are tiny creepy things that we often neglect because it’s lived and carried out in our minds, those are the ones that limit and hold us back without us even knowing the source of our limitation.

How can we rid our lives of these things?

First by accepting that these vices exist and are not in sync with the word of God over our lives, so we got to let them go “all of them” Hebrews 12:1.

Secondly, make a list of the weak areas you are struggling with e.g. resentment, envy and find out the triggers, you must be vulnerable & at the same truthful to yourself.

Why do you feel this way? Why do you feel envy against your friend that just got a new job…Is it that you feel she doesn’t deserve it or she took an opportunity that belongs to you or you feel you would rather be the person excelling? Just find your own reason.

In your notepad, write out the things you have achieved by being envious, jealous and resentful and on the left side, write out what these habits/sins have cost you.

Put down the feelings that come when we live out these habits e.g. fear, insecurity, worthless, miserable.

How would you rather feel? Joyful, peaceful, blessed.

Then looking at those your list, ask yourself who is my source? Who is he that has promised to fulfil all my desires?

If it is not your friend, your friend’s employer or anywhere tied to those people or things that trigger you to feel that way then Sis is time to cry out for a SPIRITUAL PURGE and be rest assured that the Holy Spirit is with you and he would bring you the cleansing you desire but you have got to be ready to let the Holy Spirit do the transformative work while you fully yield to him.

The process of purging is so good because it would detach from one level of limitation, fear, insecurity to another level: a level of excellence. He wants to see us set free from and purged and purged from the impurities in our lives and “let’s face it, how can you live a higher life or go higher in him and advance if we still allow these things in our lives?….truly we can’t.

I encourage us all to take this spiritual exercise serious, truly try practicing the exercise above and join me to say this prayer below.

Lord thank you for the gift of life and for your love and faithfulness upon my life even when I was less deserving, thank you Lord for the knowledge of you through your word…cleanse me Lord from every gunk that is holding me back from advancing spiritually and in my everyday life. God give me a Christ like heart that truly forgives, sometimes I am hurt, broken and taken for granted and in return I want to vent, have resentments and hold onto unforgiveness, but you Lord has the ability to transform my heart not to react that way. By your mercy Lord transform my heart, let my reactions not feed from my emotions but rather from your own standpoint. Thank you Lord because I operate from a place of a renewed mind, I operate from a place of love, forgiveness, peace, joy and a better understanding of who you are to me in Jesus Name, Amen.

Do you need someone to hold your hand, encourage you while you a take step to your complete restoration & fulfilling your purpose?

Want to prayerfully seek him for alignment & realignment of your purpose?

Then the Lord has just led you to the right place, let me hold your hand & you hold mine as we prayerfully go on this journey.

Let’s do this together friends “FOR HIS GLORY “and to the shame of the Enemy.

STAY PRAYED UP!!! STAY WINNING!!! STAY BLESSED!!! STAY ENCOURAGED!!! AND ABOVE ALL ARISE & SHINE!!!

WHEN YOUR CURRENT SEASON CONTRADICTS GOD’S PROMISES; HOW TO GO AND GROW THROUGH IT

WHEN YOUR CURRENT SEASON CONTRADICTS GOD’S PROMISES; HOW TO GO AND GROW THROUGH IT

Hey Dearest Friend!!! Glad you came by again; feels good to connect with you in here again today. Writing here brings me great fulfillment and joy…that fulfillment that comes from knowing that you are walking and living your purpose and that Abba is happy with you. Somedays I want to feel bad for how long it took me to finally start sharing the message with you on this blog but daily God reminds that he isn’t counting the lost days for me but more interested in what I do with my NOW.

GOD IS GOOD FRIENDS!!! Even when your current season doesn’t align or your ton of prayers haven’t been answered, he is still GOOD…your breathing today is a proof that he is great God and he is not done writing your story.

The past few days, I have had a series of post addressing  WORRY on my Instagram and why we should totally rely on our ever faithful Father and during the course of my studying/ reading the word while creating those posts, I came across the title of today’s blog “When Your Current Season Contradicts God’s Promises; How to Go And Grow Through That Season” and I thought to myself no better way to wrap up the mini-series on WORRY if not to talk about this in a much broad sense, so stay with me while I take you on this journey of Still Trusting, Still Believing, Still Faithing, Still Obeying even when the circumstance doesn’t encourage it.

It is one thing to know all the verses in the bible speaking of God’s promises to bless his children, to give us an expected, to be with us through the fire, the storm and all that may come our way and not only knowing, we firmly believe and trust God to come through for us, our faith is strong and we affirm the right words but yet in reality our lives or situation at different seasons is nothing close to all that God had promised, it feels like we are going through all that storm and hard times alone, I want to let you know Friends, he is right in that storm with you even if you don’t feel it, he is allowing you go through that season of LACK for a season, that ill health didn’t come with God not being aware of it. ‘HE KNOWS IT ALL”, he is too faithful to fail, he promised never to leave nor forsake you.

John 16: 33 Jesus answered them “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it, saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I am not abandoned. The father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakeable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world”.

I get it you have been praying, trusting, believing, living your best life of faith, obeying and walking to honor God, You have been serving faithfully in his vineyard, yet your current season produces nothing but lack, confusion, hopelessness, sickness which contradicts his promises. You are sitting there with the second month of the year almost ending without ticking off anything tangible off that list or without anything significant thing happening with all those big dreams and ideas.

Didn’t he promise to bless and make our lives beautiful if we honor him & seek his kingdom?

Sure, he did but let me tell you something significant that has been happening…. THE GIFT OF YOUR BREATH THROUGH YOUR NOSTRILS OR AIDED. That is significant enough. Flipping through your phone and reading this blog today is a proof that God has not forgotten his promise over your life, it’s a proof that he is not done with you. It’s a proof that the promise of abundance and good health is still very much relevant in your life.

We all go through those seasons where we second guess God’s promises over our lives that have us thinking if truly this blessings and promises are for all mankind or for a selected few.

Acts 10: 34 TPT Peter said, “Now I know for certain that God doesn’t show favoritism with people but treats everyone on the same basis.

So yes, God has no favorites….

If there is one thing that I have learnt in the course of my restoration and realignment to my purpose and my faith walk between 2019 and now, it’s PERSEVERANCE in the journey of faith and in the place of prayer. I have learnt not rushing off to have alternate plans asides God’s directive. Perseverance is the number one key ingredient in this journey of faith. God may not answer you in your time and with every detail in that prayer point of yours but you have to learn to be okay with that, other times it may not even come through or it comes different from what we expect, we should also learn to be okay with that. It’s a peaceful place to be FRIENDS! One thing you should be rest assured of is that God will always give you a good gift even if it’s a NO from him, there is a good gift in that rejection, disappointment, closed door if we look closely. God stripped away a lot of things from my life by closing some doors I thought I needed open, it was a bit unexpected and shocking but when he began to unfold other scenes in the story, right there I knew what he had door and I was grateful he slammed the doors.

While it may be okay for you to be downcast and feel like God doesn’t care as much about you as you think, I would like to remind you of the works of the enemy which is to STEAL, KILL & DESTROY and he works tirelessly. For every promise of abundance God made, the enemy tries to counter it by destroying your hope in God, for every promise of everlasting joy God made, the enemy brings in situations to steal your joy, for every promise of good health, there is a battle of ill health to be fought. Now you may ask, why will God give the enemy much power to bring us this trial, why do we have to go through this temptations and tribulations because he knows that in the end we would overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimony (If he did it before, he would do again and again)

Remember God faced his own share of troubles while on earth, from the devil tempting him to his crucifixion so he knows you would be facing all these problems but just like he said in the verse above that the father is with him, he also wants us to know that he is with us through it all. Any word, circumstance, situation that doesn’t align with the word of God is inconclusive, God will honor every of his promise in our lives if we do not give up.

I thank God daily for the work of restoration upon my life, I have wrong to develop a different reaction to a lot of things that would ordinarily have me worrying and questioning God simply because I trust him to bring his word to fulfillment in my life and I also trust his timing, not much has been happening for me this year but I go to bed everyday with the assurance that every promise he has made over my life will come to pass. I have immersed myself with gratitude and cheerfulness while working on my goals and trusting him to perfect it and you know what I already look like the answers to my prayers, this may sound funny but the compliments coming my way the past weeks has been awesome and nothing short of his faithfulness. It may look like I have my year / life all figured out but no it is the indwelling PEACE of God that is radiating all over me. I have learnt to Be in My (Your) Own Lane (B.I.Y.O.L) and let God be God in every area of my life. I have chosen not to hold on to anything tightly more than I hold on to God and I have seen God come through for me with something I barely just thought about just like the beautiful framed portrait I received at my last speaking engagement two weeks ago (I had thought about framing this particular portrait picture that I sent to the organizers of the event for the e-flier and one other one to be kept in my living room, I left it off as a thought and behold after the event I got a gift from the organizers of which I was so excited to open once I got home and there it was my  beautiful first portrait framed at no cost of mine) and this is just one of the many things I didn’t have to sweat about to come my way this year.

Let me share a few insights on how to go and grow through that season but first let’s look at 1 Peter 4:12-13 TPT “Beloved friends, If life gets extremely difficult, with many tests, don’t be bewildered as though something strange were overwhelming you. Instead continue to rejoice, for you, in a measure have shared in the sufferings of the Anointed One so that you can share in the revelation of his glory and celebrate with even greater gladness.

  • First, know what God is trying to say to you at such time when your season contradicts his promise: Is he trying to discipline you, humble you, get your attention back or simply just protect you from what you can’t see. Sometime in 2018, I began to feel some level of unfulfillment despite my career moving on well, maybe not so well but I didn’t have much complaints. I went through that phase then in 2019, it seemed like my prayers were hitting some rock in the heavenlies and never getting to God. If I am to be very honest with you, I knew what the problem was all along but I was trying to play God by mere knocking on heavens gate to bring my OWN desires to me so I can again move but you know what, God was done with my running and complacency & in place of my desires, he sent a STORM and just like Jonah, I knew the cause of the storm. It was until I couldn’t stop pushing back that I began to seek to make amends and cry out for a restoration. Most times, our lives contradict God’s promises because we have become too far away from him and he is trying to get our attention back. In that case, no matter how much of his promises you profess and how much you live by his word, if you don’t fully return to him fully ( that encounter you had when you first surrendered to him) your prayers would face barriers.
  • Fill Yourself Up with the Word of God: Revelations 12: 11 TPT they conquered him completely through the blood of the lamb and the powerful word of his testimony… When you have fully grasped what God is trying to say to you in that season and you address it, the next thing is to charge up yourself with his word so for each time a contradicting situation comes up in your life against God’s promises, remind the enemy of the many times the word of God came to fulfillment in your life, shout your testimony out loud until you can no longer hear the enemy. Shut his mouth with those TESTIMONIES! Our testimonies increase our faith in God; remember faith comes by hearing. When you keep speaking the word of God over your life and speaking out those testimonies, you are building up your faith.
  • Be More Thankful & Have a Heart of Gratitude: The enemy has no convincing over a grateful heart. Gratitude comes from a happy heart, when we have the heart of gratitude, we realize that no matter what we face, God doesn’t just work to change our situations and help us through our problems. He does more, he changes our hearts. His power through hearts of gratitude and focused mind on him, releases the grip our struggles have over us. We are strengthened by his peace, refueled by his joy.

1 Thessalonians 5: 18 And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.

Gratitude places our focus back on God and reminds us that we are not in control, but God is…it keeps us in a place of humility and dependence on him. Gratitude opens more doors for continued blessings.

  • Believe in the Lord and Surround Yourself With People Who Increase Your Faith: When it seems like your current situation doesn’t tally with God’s promises, you need to keep believing and surround yourself with people of great faith not people who would give you alternate escape plans against God’s will. In Genesis 15, Abraham believed when God promised to bless him with his own seed and he counted it to him for righteousness but something contrary happened in verse 16, Sarah being a great woman and wife wasn’t on the same faith level as Abraham so she pleaded with him to lay with her maid Hagar so she can bear him an heir (that plan was contrary to the will of God) but in the end God still blessed Abraham and Sarah with their own seed because his words will never return without being fulfilled, because he is a faithful and a loving God that keeps to every of his promise. Do not be quick to share your trials with people that do not have faith to encourage you in believing God’s word. Personally, I have learned to keep some details of my life and the big dreams to myself because the minds and faith of the people around me may not be able to carry it, so I leave it between me and God. Most times, holding on to a word of promise will require radical faith that would lead you to going on that journey alone with your faith in God.
  • Loosen Your Own Grip: God wants to bring all of those promises to pass but you are holding on too much to your own plans based on man’s principles and timing. He wants your trust to be fully on him. Let those plans that have failed you repeatedly and has also made your life a worry tent go and let God perfect it with his own plans and directives.

Proverbs 3:5 KJV Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding

  • Be Persistent in the Place of Prayer: Prayer is key, we can never do without prayers. In good and bad times, pray. Bible says pray without season.

PRAYER

I am praying for all of us that God will give us the grace and understanding to see him in that storm, even when we don’t feel it or understand it, let him shield us with his peace. May we not give in to the plots of the enemy to have a hold of our hearts and mind. May our mouths be filled with words to combat every contrary word of the enemy and may we find solace only in the gifts that he gives. Dear Lord, may we not run back to closed doors simply because we do not understand your plans for our lives, may every door you close be closed permanently and for anyone you open, the gates of hell can never and will never prevail over such. Teach us dear Lord to rejoice always and to have a heart of gratitude in every situation and help us not to hold on to anything more than we hold on to your words. Thank you, Lord, for our minds are renewed, thank you Lord for our faith is waxing stronger, thank you Lord for our hearts are healed, thank you Lord for restoration and your immerse blessings upon our lives. Amen.

STAY WINNING!!! STAY BLESSED!!! STAY ENCOURAGED!!! AND ABOVE ALL ARISE & SHINE!!!

Make The Best Out of Those Past Experiences & Bloom Again.

Make The Best Out of Those Past Experiences & Bloom Again.

Happy New Week & Happy Wednesday Friends!!! It feels good to be connecting with you on this platform today, it’s been a minute #smiles. I am currently working out plans to be consistent here & give the timing of the post a rhythm. Hopefully, it won’t be long, communicating with you here brings me fulfillment & I pray each time you visit; you leave inspired. God’s plan for the blog is RESTORATION for his children.

A few days ago, I made a post on my Instagram about not letting a single mistake, bad experience, failure, rejection define your entire being, if you are yet to read it, visit @ujuhumphreyeke on IG to read (not sure when but soon, I would update the blog to the paid version so I can directly share links to my other social media platforms here, that way you just tap on the link to read the post on IG without leaving the blog page entirely).

If you are visiting the blog for the first, welcome & thank you for stopping by, you can take out some time to visit the previous posts on the blog & I pray that it inspires you & encourages you on your faith walk.

For the purpose of this post, PAST is not only tied to sin but generally every past low moment that has made us see ourselves differently or given us a false definition of ourselves; that includes past sins, past failure, past rejection, past disappointment, past financial challenge (even your present financial challenge doesn’t define you, it doesn’t mean that you are never going to get wealth) God has given us the power to get wealth according to Deuteronomy 8:18 but he also didn’t promise that the road to getting that wealth wouldn’t be bumpy, he didn’t promise that you are never going to get broke. Truthfully, being broke is part of the process to getting wealth because in that state, our trust & faith in him is tried & when we scale through that, we get a badge for unwavering faith & trust in the Father.

So, after putting out that post, I felt a leading to do a more detailed post on it giving helpful insights on how we can live past it. First thing I would like you to know is that no one I mean “NO ONE” escapes life’s cold treatments, mistakes & shocks. At one point or the other, we have been faced with situations we are not proud of, we have been faced with disappointments that make us feel there is something wrong with us, we have been faced with rejection that have had us thinking we are not good enough after all. We wear this weight round our being refusing to let go and forgive ourselves & work towards being better, I have been there multiple times…sometimes I feel worthless but I know in reality that I am not worthless and God doesn’t see me as worthless despite all of my wrongdoings, It is just a feeling that is capable of sabotaging our lives if we let it. It’s the enemy who paints that picture of worthlessness as to make us feel ashamed and run from the presence of God to where he can totally have us body, spirit & soul to perform his wicked enterprise.Thank God for his grace and the understanding of his word, my eyes have been opened to greater truth, I am learning daily to see myself the way God sees me and nothing less.

In this post I would like to share helpful insights on how to view & live past our mistakes, disappointments, rejections, failures& walk in confidence of who Christ has called us to be.

But first, let’s look at what Ecclesiastes 3: 6 says A time to get and a time to lose: a time to keep & a time to cast away… My addition “A time to mourn over your mistakes & past and a time to let them go” Your mistakes should teach you how to live better going forward & after you have learnt that lesson, you throw it away…we throw away things that have past their usefulness, we throw away old things that no longer serve us, you have learnt that lesson from your mistake let it go.

Some reminders of God’s promises towards handling your past mistakes (The points below deal with past sins/mistakes but we can also channel same promises to deal with failures, rejections & disappointments)

  • Your past of shame is forgiven in Christ & now Christ wants to use you to show off to the world. We all have sinful pasts but none of them is out of reach of God’s mercy. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful & just to forgive us our sins & cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Think of men & women that God used in the bible despite their sinful past, look at Paul persecuting early Christians, Rahab the prostitute that protected the Hebrew spies etc. God wants your name recorded in his book.
  • Your past no longer defines you; 2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. So, in the case of a past mistake or sin, when you fully repent and rededicate your life to Christ, he says all things would become new. He didn’t say somethings would become new while you still walk around with that baggage of guilt & shame. All things becoming new includes your heart, your attitude, the way you see yourself etc. Yes, I get how difficult it is to forget what has happened to us, truthfully it can’t be wiped away from our memory but allow it to remain where it belongs -the past. The flashes would pop up occasionally but when your mind is renewed in Christ, you view it differently, you don’t start reliving and internalizing it. Allowing guilt from the past will only cripple you spiritually and otherwise, conviction by God’s spirit is okay because it leads to repentance and freedom.

Insights to Making the Best Out of Your Past & Walking in Confidence

  • Allow your past to shape you but do not dwell there: For a long time, I down played myself because a particular circumstance made me feel I wasn’t that special anyways so instead of aiming for the front row, I was okay being average because I felt I wasn’t qualified to stand in front. That single incident made me doubt everything I believed about myself. The Lord doesn’t want you wallowing in past failures instead he wants you to move forward & make wise decisions to become much better. He wants your mind renewed. Your past unquestionably shapes your character & reputation, but you are not to dwell there. We are not even supposed to dwell on good past achievements resting on our laurels instead of considering fresh opportunities.
  • Create a liberation channel with those past experiences; The consequences of that past failure can be used to transform lives positively; your past may suggest opportunities to help others. I have always wanted to run a blog as a channel to inspire & reassure people of the promises of God upon their lives, my blog as at 2013 when I created the very first one was supposed to be a channel to share God’s word. It didn’t quite go as planned coupled with my long period of complacency &distractions, but God got my attention back & I began blogging, my experience from that period of distraction framed a unique direction for the blog. Now is not just about sharing God’s word but to targeted souls who have fallen by the way side in their walk & have lost sight of the restoration power of God, the blog teaches on the assurance of Gods complete restoration tabled with life experiences, I didn’t choose that direction for the blog but the grace of God transformed that story for his glory. For that not so beautiful experience that hunts you, how about you surrender it to God & prayerfully ask him to use it for his glory.
  • Your past circumstances can’t be changed but you can be changed: the future is yet to be determined and can be influenced when you become a changed person.

Practical Test: Recall that one time you performed badly in an exam be it a job test or school test, instead of dwelling on that failure, how about you start ruling out the poor reading habits or maybe you read /prepared well, how about seeking help & looking out for people that have travelled that road to give you a guide. You could move from failure to excellent, do not choose to play small & settle for average.

In conclusion, your past has as much power as you give to it, drop the baggage, seek fresh meaning, seek restoration, seek help, seek to be better, embrace God & watch him transform your life.

Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of life, thank you for protection, preservation & provision. Your grace has kept me thus far & that is a proof you still want me here, it’s a proof that you are not done with me yet. I know I have sabotaged my life by allowing my pasts to define & shape my life. Dear Lord, I repent from taking away & for giving a false identity to ME your beloved creation.

I have gotten my share of life’s troubles, challenges, and mistakes, most times I want to live & move past it, but the flashes keep popping up & has overtime framed the way I see myself. Dear Lord, I believe in your restoration power, restore me Lord & give me the grace to see me the way you see me. I do not want to keep reliving & revisiting that past failure, sin, rejection & disappointments. Open my eyes Lord & show me ways to channel those hurtful pasts to useful tools to help others and to your Glory. I am laying all baggage at your feet & I move on restored, forgiven, renewed & blessed. I reclaim my identity in Jesus Name, Amen.

Do you need someone to hold your hand, encourage you while you a take step to your complete restoration & fulfilling your purpose?

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES & TIPS

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES & TIPS

Hi Friends,

Happy New Year once again…trust your year is off to a great start?

I believe “YES” for most people but if “NO”, you are not alone Sis & you do not have to beat yourself up about the uncertainties you are facing now.

You got time SIS…tell the confusion and uncertainties to God and watch him bring you CLARITY and PEACE to walk in your purpose.

Personally, I have a lot mapped out for the year but still working on means for execution but while at it and while I wait, “I AM SHOWING UP EVERYDAY LIKE I OWN THE SHOW”(that’s my mantra for the year),not like I have my year figured out but Hey I am done living & acting based on my reality…It’s God’s REALITY or nothing and you should too SIS.

With new year comes new resolutions, new habits and all that new stuff here and there…personally I am not big on New Year Resolutions (truthfully, I really don’t want to be so hard on myself when I don’t follow everything on my list of resolutions).

Alternatively, I just seek ways to develop myself better than I was the previous year, I rule out things that were less relevant in the past and opt for new ways of doing things productively & becoming a better person overall.

The past year was a bit too challenging for me especially in my business. For people that do not know me personally, I run a Clothing Brand by the name Oma Humphrey Signature (2years plus in my entrepreneurship journey). Would share some of the challenges I faced in business someday when I fully put in all the missing puzzles (smiles) but one of the challenges I faced was in the area of “PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT”. I spent time just working & working without giving room for a refill but that has got to change this year.

So this year, overriding all my business plans is the need to develop myself in my walk with God (Ministry) & my Career (I love business, I love my chosen career, I am a Fashion Designer & I do a lot of other things in between, some will call it “Jack of All Trades” but I simply believe that my hands are blessed and that God has deposited a lot of things for me to manifest in my time here on earth).

So, here are a few of the resources that are dear to me & that are also helping me achieve my goal of personal development: First on the list & before the list is GOD…HE IS THE LEAD IN EVERY OF MY DECISION IN 2020, WHEN HE SAYS PAUSE I OBEY & WHEN HE INSTRUCTS OTHERWISE, I FOLLOW SUIT.

  1. You Version Bible App: This is a dearly loved App, asides the different bible translations which have really helped me in studying and understanding of the word, it also has thousands of devotional plans. So, if your goal is to study the word more & get better with you walk/ relationship with God in 2020, this app is for you. Good thing, you can read your chosen devotional on the “GO” the WORD & the World has gone digital guys.
  • SCRIBD App (Digital Library): It has thousands of eBooks, Audiobooks, Magazines, Articles, Biographies etc. Been using the App since 2018 but most times I go off especially months I really do not have plans to read more or when I feel the investment on the app is much. Truthfully, I really don’t think it’s a high fee at such, the problem I had was that I was underutilizing the app then but now I know better.

I pay a subscription fee of USD9.44 monthly to gain access to lots of materials but I recently just opted for a lower package with a fee of about half the price above by the time my current plan expires because in 2020, we are spending smart & also getting value. You sign up newly, you get a free 30days trial and after that you pay for subsequent months. The plan is to read maximum of two books in a month. I am currently reading Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God by Francis Chan.

  • TEDx TALKS: Been listening to TEDx talks for a while now mostly when I bother to open the notification on my mail but in 2020, I am deciding to listen to at least one daily. TED talks are great way to improve your general knowledge, they boost creativity and broaden your perspective. By watching professionals in different field share their story which would usually start from a personal experience (good or bad), you start to see possibilities in tackling your own problems & living to be the best version of YOU. I listened to one recently “The Beautiful Balance Between Courage & Fear” by Cara E.Yar Khan …It was such an inspiring and encouraging experience & it greatly spoke to me going by the fact that “COURAGE AND ABIDE” is my theme for 2020.
  • AFFIRMATIONS: If you follow me on Instagram @ujuhumphreyeke, you will know how keen I am on affirmations. They are daily boosters for me, it helps me talk myself out of fear, negativity and feelings of not being enough.
  • SERMONS ON YouTube:  For ministry & spiritual growth, I am deciding to listen to at least one sermon daily from my favorite ministers on YouTube. This has always been a tradition for me but this year because I am trying to get value off my WEB usage and presence, I am putting more time into resources that would make me better as against just scrolling through Instagram & Facebook and exhausting almost same volume & amount of data.
  • MENTORS: While I do not have a physical mentor yet, I am relying on digital mentors by keeping close tab to individuals who have achieved the goals in my life development plan (Ministry & Career). I am seeking them out on social media, seeking out their books, following their story & allowing it to inspire me to be my own person that God has called & designed me to be (I am not wishing to be like any other person but I am open to learning from peoples story).
  • PAID COURSES & TRAININGS:  I am yearning for more & more of knowledge, if I have my way I would be heading back to the classroom before you finish reading this post (laughs), while that plan is not on the forefront of things I can take up now, I would definitely be taking up some trainings to better equip and position myself. Would share more in my next post on why learning is essential and why we should never take that for granted no matter how much we think we already know.
  • JOURNALING: This is not a new thing for me but it continues in 2020…literally I have been journaling for as long as I can remember & I have a journal for almost everything but always have a general journal usually small in size that I carry around easily. I write a lot (I express myself more through writing, talking can be stressful you know #smiles).
  • MENTAL DIET: I am committing to taking full control of my mental & emotional faculties by not entertaining thoughts or people that will not add value to my life or simply put unresourceful thoughts & humans. Taking charge of my mental & emotional space and what I let into it. Also, on this, I am committing to waking up two hours before my usual wakeup time to invest that time into any of the useful resource I have mentioned above.
  • LIVING HEALTH, BEING HAPPY & CONTENT: For a long time now, I have neglected the need to take very good of myself. For the past two and half years of running my business, I would always opt to take care of business needs first before me which is not entirely bad, but I went overboard with it. I was almost losing myself chasing after business, no breaks, no unwinding, no self-care just work. I realized how bad it was when I went home January, 2018…first my parents were not pleased with my look, I was all shades of stress and they greatly complained about that. Then around April 2018 one of my uncles that saw me in January called me one morning to express how displeased he was with my look in January and advised that I need to make time to care for myself & these are just a few of the complaints. I am still working & I am still very much in business but creating balance to live healthy, happy & content and to give myself time.

Over to you friends, how are you working on being a better version of yourself in 2020 & what are the limitations you think you might face while on this journey?

My list is still open for more helpful tips/additions, so I would appreciate you dropping more points so we all can learn and decide what best suits our purpose, dreams & aspirations.

Because this is a faith based blog, there would be a short prayer at the end of every post…so join me to say this short prayer.

Dear Lord, thank you for ushering me into this New Decade/Year.It is a proof that you still have a need of me here on earth. Lord, though I might have failed you many times, but your endless love still shields me from damnation. Father chart my path in this new season of my life, help me to trust your leadings over my life even when it looks nothing close like I had envisioned. Help me Lord not to hold onto anything more than I hold onto you. Father for every point that I would miss my path, please Lord do not hesitate to put a pause on that wrong path and realign me to your will, help me Lord to consistently ABIDE in you and in your word even when the circumstance of compromise presents itself. You said those that trust in you will never be put to shame, father I am holding onto your world & I am fully trusting you. Dear Lord, take away anything (sin, habits, friendships, decisions) that would hinder me from fully manifesting and walking in my purpose in 2020 & beyond. Your blessings makes rich and adds no sorrow, any pursuit or blessing that would bring me damnation or cause me sorrow, please take it away ahead of time dear Lord. Give the courage to live fearlessly & walk in my purpose all the days of my in Jesus Name, AMEN.

STAY WINNING!!! STAY BLESSED!!! STAY ENCOURAGED!!! AND ABOVE ALL ARISE AND SHINE!!!

HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED

HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED

Oftentimes, we confuse what we truly NEED by our WANTS, but God doesn’t get into that manner of confusion when it’s time to bless us. God knows exactly all we need at every point in our lives though  he allows us to scramble & go after the things we think we need & then shows up with what he knows is best for us…I believe the reason he let’s us go for the things we think we need is so that that when he finally blesses us with what we truly need, we would without a doubt see the GOD Factor in it.

So sometime in December, I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and came across a makeup live video which also happens to be a giveaway at the same time. So, the idea for the giveaway is that every product used on the model would be given out to any of the viewers that first indicates that they want the product in their own shade. It wasn’t so much of a busy day and hey who doesn’t like a free makeup item (No girl ever said NO to a makeup item, even after all the buys, there would still be a shade or two to be added). So yes I tuned in to the page to watch the live video and for most of the product that was raised, I indicated that I wanted by typing the exact product mentioned in the comment section of the LIVE video (I did this even for items that I already have). By the end of the video, I was too sure I was going to win an item but not sure of which because I had showed interest in most of them but to be truthful, there was one item I genuinely need in my makeup bag.

By the time they announced the winners for each of the products, I won a concealer, when I heard that I laughed at first & my exact words were “God sure knows what we truly need”. On my recent trip to Abu Dhabi, I had shopped for lots of makeup items (literally everything) but didn’t buy a single concealer because for one I didn’t see the brand I was used & others were either too expensive or their reviews didn’t quite go well with me, I was planning to buy sometime before Christmas because a girl needs some popping brows & face (laughs). And here of all the products I indicated interest to win, God gave me what I truly needed (It may look or sound too little but I take count of every blessing and try to see the God Factor in it).

Switch Cosmetics Concealer#MYWIN

You may ask why did I have to indicate interest for almost every product that was raised, the answer is simple “I just wanted to WIN” it didn’t matter if I won what I didn’t have a need for, all other items may have fallen in the category of wants or just acquiring things because it is FREE.

Bringing this message back to it sole purpose, as we navigate our way through the New Year/ New Decade…it is normal for us to want to say YES to a lot of things, it is normal for us to want to try a lot of things & venture into different businesses but one thing I want you to know is that “God knows exactly what you Need” He knows exactly what you should do or be doing, he knows the people you need to keep close to in this season. While you are all about setting those BIG GOALS and stuffs, also inquire what is on the MIND of God for your life, seek him from the very start to direct you and lead you on the path to what you truly need so you don’t be like me and say YES TO ALMOST everything and chase/go after almost everything.

And if for any reason, you travel a path that seems like what you need and God steps to realign and restructure all of it, please do not struggle to remain on that path…yield to his instructions & watch him take all the GLORY in your life.

Never ever second guess God’s leading over your life…every day seven days a week, 24hours a day, God knows what you truly need because he cares for you (1Peter 5:7 Casting all your cares upon him; for he cares for you), your thoughts are in his mind every second of the day that is why he is called the Omniscience, the Omnipotent & the Omnipresent God…He knows & sees all things, he has the power to do & do, his presence is felt everywhere at the same time.

What you need is not always what you want but you can trust God to always give you what you need even if what God gives you might look different from what you had in mind, God always knows what’s best for you.

Always give thanks to God for giving you what you need even if you don’t realize that you need it.

PRAYER INTO 2020

Dear Lord, thank you for ushering me into this New Decade/New Year…It is a proof that you still have a need of me here on earth. Lord, though I might have failed you many times, but your endless love still shields me from damnation. Father chart my path in this new season of my life, help me to trust your leadings over my life even when it looks nothing close like I had envisioned. AWAY FROM THE NOISE

AWAY FROM THE NOISE

For as long as I could remember my soul has been craving some measure of solitude, an alone moment with God…I so much yearned to get ‘’AWAY FROM THE NOISE’’ but with the dispensation we live in, life getting busier by the day and life constantly placing demands on us it was difficult to get away from the noise and activity that is part and parcel of the world we live in.

I believe God was also waiting for me and eager to bring calmness and clarity to my world that was already drowning in confusion, fear, faithlessness and everything in between.

Finally in April after I encountered what I would tag as a STORM (wrote about it a bit in my previous blog post) I decided it was time to unplug and shut out for a period, so my first step to that was staying locked up in my room for about a week for an alone moment with God. The first two days I didn’t step out of the room, from the third day to the 7th day I only went to the fridge to grab something to close my fast for each day but never stepped outside of my house.

Right at the pool of my tears, where I was asking God to put some direction to my life because I had lost track of how we started, the Lord said to me “Daughter you have been short changing yourself for the past years, I created and called you to eat at the table not to feed off crumbs. He went on “I called you to be a light in your world and here you are shining through other people’s light” Why have you chosen to dim your light this much? I was totally wrecked with this reminder because I knew that I had set up myself to struggle in areas that God wanted me to be a STAR.

It wasn’t like God was condemning me, he was just disappointed as to how carried away I had become and likewise I was disappointed with myself too and I kept muttering “Lord I am sorry”.

The Lord really showed me a lot of things in those few days, he opened my eyes to things and yes like flashlights, he brought to my remembrance all that I have put aside (like me and God had a long time plan of things to be accomplished in his kingdom). After those few days of waiting and listening to the Lord, he laid it in my heart to go meet my Pastor for counselling, yes he knew I needed someone to hold me in my broken state so I scheduled to go for the next counselling where I poured my heart out to my pastor about my journey of faith (within 10mins, I gave him a run-down of my life history & how God has used me mightily from high school to college and how I got distracted afterwards) he counselled & prayed with me, also gave me some sound prayers on restoration to be prayed on my own.

The Revelation Part 1

Right after my counselling session that day, I was still in church when my phone rang, it was my MUM and next she goes, my Reverend would like to have a word with you, he saw a revelation about you (my last daughter) because the Reverend has never met me before & doesn’t know my name.

So it was more like a word for Mrs. Ifeoma Eke’s last daughter (probably that was how God put it to him). He happens to be one of the young ministers that Mummy has worked with in one of her Lay Preaching assignment (Lay preacher means a person who is not a member of the clergy but is appointed by the clergy to preach and lead church services) so they have a kind of Big mummy & son relationship in the Lord.

At first I was a bit skeptical & at the same scared, but then I knew my MUM too well and understood the kind of people she keeps close to her, I asked her a few questions about the man of God which she gave me some credible answers so I decided to give it a shot and reach him on the phone as requested.

I put the call through to the man of God that day when I got home and he instructed that I fast & pray for three days and then get back on the third day (you all know there is something symbolic about the third day & the number 3 in the bible). So on the third day I called back, we went into a brief worship followed by prayers.

After the prayers, he went on to tell him what the Lord has revealed to him concerning me, He told me clearly that in what was revealed, he saw a cross I was supposed to be carrying “Rusting and Withering” as shocked as I was, I let out a big laugh like for real, God also sent someone to confirm this thing. Before now I wasn’t quite comfortable when someone says I have a word for you from the Lord, but this was such a timely message from God, I had just gone for counselling on the same subject then this revelation.

I already knew this thing a long time but now a second confirmation from God…whew I knew it had become serious. For the next few weeks I was praying & asking for direction on the many things he has set on my path. Gradually, things started to unfold, and I began to see and walk in the light once more though not as easy it sounds here but yea I kept pushing daily while I let God to be my lead, my strength & my peace.

The Revelation Part 2

All this was running into months, at some point I went off work & some level of communication including social media because with the level of what I was seeking & the demand on my life, I knew I needed my spirit to be calm free from all the cares, worries & pursuits of this life so I decided to dedicate time to hearing from God and listening to my soul. In June, I went back to church on a counselling date but this time around I was seeking for God’s leading on something. It was one of the assistant pastors that had the prayer session with me (Not the main pastor I had met in April for counselling).

As usual we sang a few worship songs holding hands with our eyes shut, just when he was about to start praying, next he says the Lord said I should ask “What are you doing for his Kingdom”? Am like again God, at that point I felt torn apart & couldn’t control the tears. Like it has become so bad that God keeps sending people even after he confirmed to me personally. I knew it was time to brace up and take up all that the enemy has stolen from me & manifest fully. I knew it was time to work in my purpose, no holding back, no doubts, no fear…JUST TO OBEY AND FOLLOW HIS LEADING.

The Solitude & The Confirmation

With all this revelation, I knew I needed to find an inner silence that switches off the inner stream of thoughts, images & feelings because without this, transformation will not be possible.

In September, I decided to go for a week retreat to a camping ground out of town (that was and remains the best disconnect ever). I needed to hear his still small voice yet again & I knew I needed to be intentional in creating the best atmosphere for that encounter where I totally shut off from the buzz & alone to listen in silence. When we go silent just to be with God, it’s like a well filling us with water, you can only hear your soul when you pay attention to it. Silence is food for the soul, it can fill us with ideas on our purpose, it is restorative, it refreshes us with wisdom.

At this retreat, there were general programs for all campers & also times where you can enjoy your own solitary worship. During this period, I wasn’t bent on asking God for anything else but for a FRESH FIRE & FRESH ANNOINTING because I know with it, every other thing will fall in place.

The first three days at the camping ground was intense & impactful with different prayer sessions at different times of the day, I could feel God doing a lot of transformation in my life yet I was still yearning for a more deeper encounter.

Evening of the third day, my phone packed up (I have only used the phone for torchlight & reading my devotional since I got into the camp on Monday) …tried everything I could, left it charging over night still no power. After the morning session of the Thursday’s program, I decided to go have some personal time with God in one of the auditoriums as against going back to the dormitory. On my way to the auditorium, I stopped by a phone repair shop (actually two different shops) to see if they can help power my phone, both parties independently told me that I needed to format the phone as it was popping up some software code language and that meant loosing all my files, well I didn’t buy that idea, though I was a bit worried because I wasn’t prepared to spend so much on fixing a phone or even purchasing a new one but I tried not to stress so much about it till I get into town the next day being Friday. So, I proceeded to have my special time alone with God, there at the altar as I was crying & asking God to have mercy on me & let me encounter him one more time, I suddenly felt this PEACE all around me, I can’t exactly remember how long I was there for but as I was about to round up my prayers, I got a prompt in my spirit to drop the phone at the altar & lay hands on it, I obeyed & also went on to anoint the phone with some olive oil & put it back into my bag.

After my prayers, I still had a few more minutes before our evening session, so I made a stroll back to one of the phone shops but this time around first to access my mail with their laptop to get some information I needed  & to insert my sim in their phone to get out a contact I need for Friday when I get out of the camp. So I gave the technician my phone to pull out my sim, while he put it into his own phone & handed over his phone to me, I stepped aside to put a call through to my brother, the next thing I heard is MA your phone just came on. I walked back to see for myself & ask what he did differently, he said he just tried to power it with the same charger we had used about an hour or two ago & it came on, I was like YES, THIS IS YOU LORD.

As little as the phone miracle may sound, that was the only confirmation I needed from God, that was the fresh fire I needed. It was a proof that he is ready to do a new thing in my life & would hear from heaven & answer my prayers even to the littlest of them all just as it used to be in the past when I was up & burning for him. The little phone answered prayer was a reassurance of my RESTORATION & yes I left the camp fulfilled.

Are you that person that was once burning for God & all of a sudden things changed (while in college, amidst being a Cell Leader & Pastoral Care Fellowship Leader, I was one time the coordinator/head of committee for one of our major programs then ‘DAY OF BLISS” I remember the daily special prayers & cry to God…like God do not let me fail with this assignment, I remember clearly the time & sweat put into planning that program, I remember holding ladders for guys to mount posters, I remember the sleepless nights of meetings with other committee members, I remember moving around school to share flyers & telling all that cared to listen about the encounter…all this I did not for public display (because I actually don’t do well with crowd, I would tag myself then as being shy) but because my heart was for God, I was determined to make God proud, it was joy to see his name glorified, it was joy to see souls won to his kingdom, it was what I grew into…I watched my mum serve God & also live a fulfilled life so basically that just flowed and YES it was an impactful service that night & I remember my pastor calling myself & other committee members to pray for us. Trust me after that event, I felt unstoppable for God, gradually I came out fully from shelf & shyness ready to burn for God but hey stuffs happened but grateful that I am able to share my story with you today.

I don’t know what your journey of faith must have been like, has life hit you on all sides that you have forgotten the faithfulness of God, did you just grow complacent in you walk?

Remember his promise in Isaiah 43 vs 2, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you, when you walk through fire, you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze.

Join me to say this short prayer of faith; Dear Lord Jesus thank you for my life, thank you for blessing & preserving me even when I was less deserving. I invite you today to fill this void & emptiness in my life because the pursuits of this world cant fill me up like you would do, bring calmness to my spirit with your tender care so I can hear you when you speak, shine your light in every dark area of my life, gracefully restore me to the promise, give me PEACE dear Lord, not the type that the world gives…everlasting PEACE only found in you. Thank you for delivering from the devises of the enemy which is to steal, kill & destroy, thank you for placing me back into KINGSHIP right where I belong. Anoint me with fresh fire so I can burn daily & fiercely for you all the days of my life, Amen.

Do you need someone to hold your hand, encourage you while you take a step to getting away from the noise?

Want to prayerfully seek him for alignment & realignment of your purpose?

Then the Lord has just led you to the right place, let me hold your hand & you hold mine as we go on this journey.

I would be glad to prayerfully walk with you on this journey and at the end all glory will be returned to the Father.

STAY WINNING!!! STAY BLESSED!!! AND ABOVE ALL ARISE SHINE!!!

Running On Empty

Running On Empty

For the past few months, I have the opportunity of being in possession of two different cars owned by my brothers at different times and that automatically meant me ditching my Taxi/other means of commute. In this period, I had noticed a very regular occurrence in my relationship with the gas gauge…on different occasions I had driven the car to the point where the light on the gas gauge comes up showing that I am almost running on empty.

Interestingly, the reason behind my constant  “Running on Almost Empty” is as a result of me shifting or postponing the day/time of refill because in my thought, if the car can still move then we are good. Other times, I am either in a hurry to meet up a deadline or I am just too carried away by other activities and things to be taken care of  and there right at the entrance of my estate is a gas station but I rather wait till I am on yellow to refill…this can be related to the way we run our lives and our relationship with God…we are too busy too consistently pull over for a refill in his presence.

Often, we find ourselves in this same exact state where we neglect the warning signs as we drive through life and we just keep moving, we see the signal that our spiritual tank is running on almost empty but yet we feel everything is okay and keep pushing through, we forget “1 Corinthians 10:12 -Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall“, we neglect to yearn and lean-to God for a refill. We are too busy that stopping/pulling over for a refill /to hear what God has to say to us in each season in our lives seems to be a futile effort so we just keep moving.

When the phrase “Running on Empty”dropped in my mind and I researched it on a deeper level, I knew the Lord was leading me to talk about it because I have and still recovering from it.

According to urban dictionary, “Running on Empty” is the beginning stage of depression, when you feel like the world is just out to get you, nothing is going on right in your life and you are on the verge of insanity. Despite all that, you still go through your daily routine, holding onto an ounce of hope that things will be better one day.

I wasn’t exactly feeling depressed, but I sensed I was “Running on Empty” but didn’t quiet realize that on time until sometime mid 2018 when I began to feel sudden dissatisfaction and unfulfillment in my life. Let me point out that at this time in my life, my fashion line was getting a lot of traction, money was coming in maybe not like I wanted but I was content with the provisions God made in that season…we had just showcased at our first runway show, we got some press coverage, our pieces were featured on two different magazine covers, and also in a TV commercial….all this was enough to keep me happy and bubbly being that the business officially started full time operations the year before that is 2017 but I constantly had a mask of unfulfillment behind closed doors and on the outside I tried to keep up with appearance (after all we are taught not to look like what we are going through) so I nursed this feeling inside.

As a temporary escape, I began to nurse the idea of turning another of my very numerous passion into a side business in 2019 just to get the feeling of a newness and something fresh, I made plans towards this idea but never got the excitement that comes with something new and that gave me doubts about the whole idea so I shoved it off and kept on pushing through.

Just before the end of 2018, the word INTENTIONAL dropped in my spirit and I knew that was the word to live by for the rest of 2019 and I made a post on it in January here:https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2507796892569219&set=a.248247841857480&type=3 .

This single word I chose to live by has redirected the cause of my life in more ways than I could ever imagine… I realized I wasn’t intentional with the things of God as I used to, I began to see how much I have tried to push aside the ways of God in preference for my own ways, I realized that through most of my actions that I was telling God “Chill I got this all planned out” it was more of me and what I wanted and less of God. I wanted God’s abundance but never created time to actually glean and listen to his leadings in different seasons in my life, I prayed about things then work myself up in my own way to get it done and when it fails, I try every other possible means to make it work…I had neglected the God factor.

I read by bible but not sure I came across this verse for a very long time: John 15:5 “I am the Vine; you are the Branches. He who abides in me and I in him, bears much fruit for without me you can do nothing” .I was abiding but not fully… neglecting that God takes glory in our total surrender…but also forgot the part that says “His strength is made perfect in our weakness not in our strength”.

As I began to dig deeper about my situation of unfulfillment and unsatisfaction, I noticed my “soul’s low fuel light” and I felt God leading me from the first quarter of the year to pull away and refill in his presence but I was more concerned about my job and how to create time just for him so I ignored it but God being a loving father wasn’t ready to relent on me ,he knew we have been back and forth this excuses for a long time, he knew it was time to fulfil and answer the call on my life, he has taken all my flimsy reasons and postponement for a long while and  wasn’t ready for a NO this time so  he knew he needed to get my attention whichever he chooses and just like he did to JONAH, he sent a storm.

P.S : From a very young age, I knew that the Lord has a special calling on my life and I was on that path at some point in my life but took what I would call a sabbatical leave from the actual work while spending much time on a small facet of my ministry (would put up on more detailed post on this later).

It was until the storm hit, I knew that I couldn’t move anymore and needed to come to a place of total surrender and also like JONAH I cried out to the Lord…I finally dropped to my knees and admitted my need for a spiritual refill only found in Jesus. I gulped down in his presence and drank in his peace, all the while wondering why I waited so long to pull over and its been an amazing journey as daily he has been causing me to REST on him and his word.

Have you seen yourself trying to take the role of God in your life? Are you saying more yes to your ways and NO to the father’s leading? It is a sign of spiritual rebellion which shows that you are “Running on Empty “and it is time to refill.

We don’t know what each day holds, but God sees the next. He knows what we need and how to equip us for the things ahead, if only we pay attention when the light alerts us.

Dear Friends, if your soul is nearing empty do not wait! The Lord is asking you today to take time, fuel up and find rest for your soul.

Join me in taking this short prayer of repentance:

Prayer: Lord thank you for the salvation of my soul, thank you for not letting me loose my life when I tried to do life my way. Forgive me Lord for thinking I could ever make it on my own. Give me the Grace Lord to understand that I can only do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Rid me of every self-reliance and self sufficiency and let my gaze be fully fixed on you as I walk daily to fulfil that which you have called me to in Jesus Name, Amen

Is your heart tank crying for a refill that can only be filled by God?

Do you need someone hold your hand, encourage you while you pause for a refill?

Want to prayerfully seek him for alignment & realignment of your purpose?

Then the Lord has just led you to the right place, let me hold your hand and you hold mine as we go on this journey.

I would be glad to prayerfully walk with you on this journey and at the end all glory will be returned to the Father.

STAY WINNING!!! STAY BLESSED!!! AND ABOVE ALL ARISE SHINE!!!
